Activity Description

The Cryptococcal Optimal Antiretroviral Therapy Timing (COAT) Trial was a NIH-sponsored randomized strategy trial to test whether early or deferred HIV therapy was the preferable strategy to optimize 6-month survival after cryptococcal meningitis. Collaborators from the University of Cape Town, Makerere University, and Mbarara University of Science and Technology, as well as the University of Minnesota collaborated on the trial running between 2010-2013.
