Activity Description

The College of Veterinary Medicine, Center for Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS), College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences, Department of Food Science and Nutrition (FScN), Humphrey School of Public Affairs, and Extension at the University of Minnesota have entered into this partnership with World Learning in order to work with the Faculty of Agriculture at University of Prishtina (FA-UP), Kosovo with the primary goals to help develop, strengthen and sustain a modern academic program for agriculture, food systems and veterinary education. As outlined in objective three of the World Learning Tranformational Leadership Project, activities described here support the agreed project goal 'to transform the structure and culture of higher education in Kosovo to enable domestic institutions to produce graduates able to meet the needs of growing economy and developing state'. All activities herin are designed to provide a complement to and synergies with individual faculty partnerships. We envision an academic program based on, and responsive to, the needs of Kosovo's society and developing economy. Broad supporting objectives to achieve these goals are; curriculum development, strengthening pedagogy and improved research capacity..
