Activity Description

The Change program will use innovative media and group discussions for couples and their families, skill-building workshops and training for religious leaders to reduce violence against women and girls. The project impact evaluation (a two-armed RCT) feeds into the short- and long-term goals of the project by increasing the understanding of the issue of VAWG (violence against women and girls) in Nepal and identifying effective tools by which VAWG can be prevented in patriarchal cultures such as Nepal. Shifts in awareness, attitudes, behavior, and social norms will be sustained over time through research uptake and by key influencers, local NGOs, locally based researchers, and religious leaders all of whom will be trained throughout the intervention.
